Functional Training: A Way Of Daily Life

When many people think of training in the gym, they generally think of the typical bodybuilding style workout.

But the truth is that there are so many different types of ways you can workout.

Bodybuilding style is definitely the most popular and makes the most sense if you have a specific goal of losing fat or building muscle.

Many people also do cross fit, which is a combination of strength and endurance workouts performed with functional movements.

Similarly, there is functional training, which is training for movements that you regularly do in your day to day life. Things like pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and lifting.

This week I had the pleasure of speaking with Scott Bailey, a trainer who specializes in mobility and functional training techniques.

As someone who does not know much about functional training, and slacks heavily in the mobility department, I had quite a few questions for him.

We didn’t get too much into the mobility side since I will be doing a completely separate episode on mobility alone with another guest host.
